With Halloween just around the corner, LEGO has released a fantastic new set from its Ideas line—”The Nightmare Before Christmas.” This set perfectly captures the spooky, whimsical essence of Tim Burton’s iconic movie. Although scaled down from the original fan design, it still looks stunning and spooky, making it a fantastic addition to any Halloween display.
Minifigures

The set features 7 unique minifigures, including Jack Skellington, Sally, the Mayor, and Oogie Boogie’s mischievous kids—Lock, Shock, and Barrel. These figures bring the characters to life, with the Mayor boasting dual faces, and Jack’s bat bow tie completing his recognizable look. While the figures are well-detailed, some, like Sandy Claws, slightly miss the mark compared to their on-screen counterparts.
The Build
The main build is Halloween Town, split into three separate sections that can be independently assembled. The modular style makes it easy to access each section’s interior.

- Town Hall: Featuring eerie gray tones, this section has several seasonal Halloween decorations with nods to Christmas preparations, including a banner and stickers. The building opens at the back, allowing for great display and play options. The removable roof adds additional details like hidden seasonal objects for more movie-inspired moments.
- Jack’s House: Although scaled down from the movie version, the quirky design and animal statues still capture the essence of Jack’s spooky home. Inside, the set features his office, complete with blackboard plans and his iconic Sandy Claws costume.
- Cemetery & Spiral Hill: Arguably the most iconic part of the set, the cemetery scene comes complete with pumpkins, tombstones, and the spiral hill where Jack sings atop with a full moon backdrop. The scene is perfect for recreating movie moments, although a glow-in-the-dark moon would’ve been a fantastic extra touch.
Price & Value
Priced at $200 (€200 or £170), this 2,193-piece set offers approximately 4 hours of enjoyable building time. If you’re torn between this set and last year’s Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas offers an eerie display perfect for Halloween fans, while Hocus Pocus might be the right pick for those seeking a more detailed interior.

If you’re looking for a spooky, detailed set to add to your collection, The Nightmare Before Christmas LEGO set is a must-have.
